Food for thought as student project goes on show

11th Jul 2019 Back

Five students from Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form will showcase their vision for food sustainability at a special exhibition of young people's ideas.

Lloyd Frew,  George Littlewood, Phoebe Sayer, Andreas Ferrari, and Daniell Joy will present their 'Food For The Future' project as part of the Norwich Freemen's Charity's WeCreateNorwich exhibition at The Forum.

The sixth formers have worked on the project over the past year, developing their ideas with input from food experts from across the UK, local businesses, and biologists.

Working with Norwich-based start-up MyDNAHealth, the group explored how DNA testing could help build the healthiest diets possible for individuals.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to sample alternative protein sources at the 'insect bar', see a hydroponic (water-based) farm in action, and take home a guide to local sustainable food producers.

The free exhibition takes place at The Forum, Millennium Plain, from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, July 14 and Monday, July 15.
