Extra Support for Students
Need a bit of extra help? Here’s how to get it.
At Sir Isaac, we all know learning isn’t always smooth sailing. Some weeks you’re flying; other weeks, you just need a bit more time, focus, or guidance... and that’s completely normal.
We’ve got two brilliant ways to help you keep moving forward:
Subject Support
Extra feedback and improvement sessions are available to you. As these are small-group lessons you can have more time to work directly with your subject teachers on the areas you find most challenging.
Maybe you want to revisit a tricky topic, go over your feedback in more detail, or even sit in on a Year 12 or Year 13 class to see something taught again... that’s all possible.
How to get it:
Talk to your subject teacher about the area you’re struggling with.
Your teacher will help you decide the best route by either adding you to an extra Feedback & Improvement session or finding a good slot to join another class for that topic.
The change will appear on your timetable, so you’ll know exactly when and where to go.
This is your chance for extra, focused teacher time, so don’t hesitate to ask.
Mentor Sessions (Organisation & Study Skills)
Our mentors are former Sir Isaac students who remember exactly what A-level life feels like. They’re here to help you manage your timetable, stay organised, and build good study habits.
Need help with:
- Planning your week?
- Keeping up with your homework?
- Finding the time to do past papers?
- Drafting your personal statement?
- Finding a better work–life balance?
They’ve got you covered.
How to get it:
Speak to your form tutor during tutor time.
Your tutor can arrange for you to join a mentor session.
You’ll be matched with a mentor who can support you with whatever you’re finding tricky.
Remember
You don’t need to wait for someone else to offer help, you can ask for it yourself.
Subject problem? → Talk to your subject teacher for extra support.
Organisation or workload problem? → Talk to your form tutor to get set up with a mentor session.
Consider for yourself these opportunities to make things easier and better.
