A Joyous Farewell: Y13 Leavers BBQ and Assembly

On Friday, 9th May, Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form was abuzz with excitement as students, staff, and special guests gathered in the Engine Hall for the much-anticipated Leavers BBQ and assembly.
The assembly kicked off with an inspiring farewell message from Mr. Jennings, the school principal, who praised the students for their hard work and wished them success in their future endeavors. Students then eagerly awaited the announcement of the subject awards. Each award winner was greeted with enthusiastic applause as they received a certificate and a green glass apple, a symbol of the school's pride.
One of the highlights of the assembly was a delightful leaving message video from the year group's beloved spirit animal, Hamish the Highland Cow. The room was filled with laughter and cheers as the video played. The pinnacle of the awards ceremony was the presentation of the principal's award, given to the student who best embodied the school motto, "Work Hard, Be Nice." This year, the prestigious award went to Em Becker, who also had the honor of taking Hamish the Highland Cow home. To mark this special occasion, Hamish was given a new lanyard with his new name, "Hamish Becker."
Following the assembly, the celebration continued outdoors with a fantastic BBQ. The aroma of sizzling burgers filled the air as staff members donned aprons and served up delicious food to the entire year group. The BBQ was a perfect opportunity for students and staff to relax, reminisce, and enjoy each other's company before the A Level Exams start.
The Leavers BBQ and assembly was a fitting tribute to the remarkable students of Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form celebrating their achievements. Everyone here at Sir Isaac wishes them all the best for the upcoming exams and we look forward to seeing them at 'a Night Under the Stars' Prom.
