How to Apply

Choosing a sixth form is a very important decision. We want to make that decision as easy as possible and support you every step of the way.

It’s easy to apply for a place at Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form. You can either apply directly via our website or through www.helpyouchoose.org.

If you have any questions at all about the college, or the application process, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.

Appeals

You and your child have the right to appeal if your child has been refused a place at Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form.

If your child was refused admission because they didn’t meet the entry requirements as specified above, the panel will only uphold the appeal if it considers that the decision was unreasonable based on the information available. For example, if there are specific reasons or special circumstances that meant your child was not able to get the required GCSEs at the relevant grades.

Please complete and return an attached appeal form with the reasons for the appeal. Once the form is received an appeal hearing will be held within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals, or within 30 school days for an in-year admission application.

16 to 19 Bursary Fund

You could get a bursary to help with education-related costs if you’re aged 16 to 19 and:

  • studying at a publicly funded school or college in England - not a university
  • on a training course, including unpaid work experience

Bursary money can be used to pay for things like:

  • clothing, books and other equipment for your course
  • transport and lunch on days you study or train

Please contact us for further information on the bursary criteria and how to apply.
