Meet our Therapy Dog - Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form

Meet our Therapy Dog

Meet a very special member of the Sir Isaac Newton wellbeing team – our dog Lionel.

Research shows that interaction with dogs is good for our physical and mental health by helping to reduce blood pressure and releasing chemicals in the brain that have a calming effect. If you are feeling overwhelmed or anxious, spending time with Lionel can really help you feel more relaxed.

You don’t need to be feeling overwhelmed to spend time with Lionel. He loves to be with students and will never turn the chance of a walk. We have found that having Lionel around the school has helped students become less nervous of dogs, but please do let us know if you are allergic or afraid of dogs and we will make sure that Lionel is kept away from you.
