Maths Week 2023

Following on from a very successful Maths Week England 2022, Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form hosted their second year of activities in collaboration with Maths Week England 2023 and the University of East Anglia from Monday 13th to Friday 17th November.

This year, we moved away from our journey through space and took on a new theme – dinosaurs – with a variety of events providing enriching mathematical opportunities designed for Key Stage 2 and 3 students across Norfolk.

Dino-Day: Mesozoic Maths

On Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th November, we hosted an interactive maths activity carousel based around the theme of dinosaurs, supported by our excellent teaching team and staff and students from the University of East Anglia.

Over 180 Year 4 students from across 21 Norfolk Primary schools joined us over both days, participating in a range of unique and engaging tasks from Dinosaur Park Planning to Venn Diagrams. You can read more about the day's events here.

Enrichment Lessons

Throughout Maths Week, our expert teachers visited schools in Norfolk to deliver lessons on enriching maths, including a unique dinosaur-themed session only available during this time.

Our Enrichment Lesson offer is now available all year round. These lessons can be delivered to schools during maths lessons or as after-school clubs, and we will tailor the lessons to match the age range and ability of the students.
