Maths Week 2022
In collaboration with Maths Week England (14th November - 18th November), we were delighted to host a range of events and activities to enthuse primary and secondary students in Norfolk about the wonders of studying maths.

Origami Competition (KS2 and KS3)
During Maths Week, we hosted an inter school origami competition with Primary and Secondary categories for schools across Norfolk where they were invited to create their own display of space using origami. Students were encouraged to be as creative as they liked, building stars, planets and solar systems using origami. Over 30 schools signed up to participate and were provided with a pack of resources needed to design the space display including instructional videos created by our expert team of teachers.
We have seen some out-of-this-world creations from schools across Norfolk and are incredibly proud of every entry we have received. Schools have impressed us with their accuracy, creativity and variety of displays, and we are excited to announce the winners of each category are as follows.
Primary:

Primary Maths in Space Day (KS2)
On Thursday 17th November 2022, we hosted our Primary "Maths in Space" Day at the Inspiration Trust Teaching School Hub.
Over 20 primary schools took part in the event, which was enjoyed by 180 pupils. Activities included an origami masterclass, alien times table games, maths challenges, life-sized space battleships, and talks on planets, rocket ships and astronauts by experts in each field. Pupils were then gifted a goody bag filled with stationary, bookmarks and additional activity booklets to continue the maths fun at home.

Maths in Space Open Evening (KS2)
Students who weren’t able to join us for the “Maths in Space Day” were welcomed to attend our “Maths in Space Open Evening” on Wednesday 16th of November. Parents and students from Key Stage 2 were invited to visit to take part in a range of activities based on the theme of space alongside their siblings at the Inspiration Trust Teaching School Hub.
Enrichment Lessons (KS2 and KS3)
During “Maths Week England” our expert teachers visited 14 schools in Norfolk to deliver lessons on enriching maths to over 700 students. The lessons were highly enjoyed by all participating schools and due to their success, we are excited to announce that we will be continuing to run the Enrichment Lesson Programme throughout the academic year.
